A Walk Across The Sanctuary Changed A Man’s Life
A man walks into our sanctuary bent over, exhausted by heart trouble after dying seven times. I feel a nudge: take his hand and invite him to walk. Two steps later he says, “Something’s touching my heart,” and the room shifts from routine to expectancy. What follows is a lap of courage, a surprising encounter in what I describe as a portal—an opening where God’s presence feels tangible—and a follow-up that grounds hope in data: a doctor’s report noting 40% heart improvement.
I talk about why I take the biblical call to lay hands on the sick literally and how years of praying for people shaped a simple, repeatable pattern: show compassion, give a clear next step, speak life, and keep moving together. We explore the power of embodied faith—how walking can interrupt fear, how a community space can carry meaning, and how honest testimonies can widen the pathway for others. This isn’t about hype or perfect outcomes; it’s about faithful practice, documented progress, and the courage to try when everything hurts.
If you’re carrying pain, wrestling with a diagnosis, or just hungry for hope, this story is for you. Come hear how small steps can stir big change, how presence and prayer can open hearts, and why I believe sanctuaries can become places of recovery and joy. If the conversation helps you, share it with someone who needs encouragement, subscribe for more stories of healing and faith, and leave a review with your own questions or testimony—we’d love to hear what you’ve experienced.

Hi, I'm Linda Budd. I'm a pastor at Rivergate Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. And I take the scriptures literally that says that we are to lay hands on the sick and see them recover. And so for several years I've gone after a healing anointing. I've prayed for people dozens of times over the years. And I see so many get healed. I've seen all manner of sickness and disease healed. If you have any pain in your body, if you're infirmed, if you have any disease, if you have any sickness at all, I just reach my hand up to heaven right now in the name of Jesus and I call forth the new body part that you need. Listen to this testimony. I was sitting in the front waiting for service to start, and I saw a man walk in the door. He was really bent over. He was not very old, probably in his 30s, but he could hardly walk. And I heard myself say, Oh, that one's mine. I'm gonna pray for him. At the close of the service, I went over to him and I said, Take my hand. When you begin to walk with me, you're going to get healed. And he told me that it was his heart and that he had died seven times. And they got him back. And I said, Yes, walk with me. And I got him to walk with me. He at first he said he couldn't, but then I said, Yes, you can. You're going to be healed. As he began to walk with me, we only took two steps and he bent over and he said, Oh my, something's happening in my heart. I can feel him touching me. And I said, Yes, you're being healed, as I told you you would be. And I said, Now come and take a lap with me around this sanctuary. He said, I can't. I said, Yes, you can, and you'll be healed. So as we began to walk, he kept saying, Oh, something's touching my heart. Something's touching my heart. And I said, Yes, the Lord is touching your heart and healing you. We got all the way around the sanctuary and I said, Now I want to take you into a portal. You may not know what a portal is, but I want to take you into it. And I walked him over to where I know that there is a portal, an opening in our sanctuary, like a gate to heaven. He stepped into it and he said, Oh my God! And he was just shocked at how he felt the presence of God and he didn't want to leave. So finally, it was time for everyone to go home. The lights were going off, and I said, You're going to have to come out of there now, and it's okay because you can come back anytime. And uh I checked on him then a couple days later, and I found out that the doctor had checked him out and his heart was 40% healed. Praise God. If you have a heart condition, I'm telling you in the name of Jesus, you are being healed now. Aren't these just great testimonies of the goodness of God and the healing power of Jesus Christ? If you are interested in having me come and speak at the motivational event, your church, or a conference of some sort, I am more than happy to consider that invitation. Please contact my church's office, Rivate Church Tulsa, 918 492 5511, and we'll see if we can set something up. God bless you.
