Minute to Heal It Podcast
When Hope Drives An Hour, Faith Answers
Hope doesn’t wait for perfect conditions; it shows up in hospital rooms, late-night services, and long drives across the state. We share a candid journey from our healing ministry at Rivergate Church, where prayer for the sick is more than a line in scripture—it’s a daily practice of showing up, laying on hands, and asking boldly for restoration. You’ll meet a young couple who drove an hour to seek help: a wife enduring relentless colitis and a veteran husband carrying pain in his elbows, shoulders, hips, and knees. Their courage illuminates the heart of faith-led healing—naming real needs, praying specifically, and standing firm even when immediate change doesn’t appear.
We talk through what to do when outcomes delay: return to the word, speak truth over your body, and keep declaring hope with patience and grit. That rhythm isn’t denial; it is discipline. Along the way, we address a quiet reality many caregivers and veterans know well—putting others first while ignoring personal pain—and how a simple invitation to receive prayer can open the door to relief. Testimonies become more than stories; they are signposts that point to what’s possible and create momentum for those still waiting.
If you’re navigating illness, chronic pain, or the weariness of long-term caregiving, you’ll find practical encouragement, honest reflection, and an open hand. We believe the power of prayer meets people where they are and can bring recovery, strength, and peace to body and soul. Listen, share with someone who needs courage today, and tell us your story. Hi, I'm Linda Budd. I'm a pastor at Rivergate Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. And I take the scriptures literally that says that we are to lay hands on the sick and see them recover. And so for several years I've gone after a healing anointing. I've prayed for people dozens of times over the years, and I see so many get healed. I've seen all manner of sickness and disease healed. If you have any pain in your body, if you're infirmed, if you have any disease, if you have any sickness at all, I just reach my hand up to heaven right now in the name of Jesus and I call forth the new body part that you need. Listen to this testimony. News about Jesus' healing presence at Rivergate Church is beginning to spread out farther. A couple drove an hour away from inside our state in another part of the state to come to the Tuesday, to the Sunday night service. And she just had so much wrong with her. Her body had colitis, and she was having 30 episodes of bleeding every day. Her husband looked like he just was so worried and like he just was so defeated, and that he was so concerned, and he was just praying and pressing into God for her. And so we began to get her a new colon in the name of Jesus. And then we got him up and started praying for him, wanted to pray for him, and he said, No, I don't need anything. Well, he was a veteran, and he just said, I just want my wife healed and so forth. But we said, No, what do you need? And well, he needed everything. He needed elbows and shoulders and hips and knees from being in the war. This was a young couple, and so I I we really prayed for him, and it looked like God really touched them both. Well, then I got a hold of him during the week, and she said that nothing had happened for her, and she was still having all the same issues. You know, when that happens, all I can say is go back to the word of God, speak it over yourself, declare it over yourself, find healing scriptures and just declare and declare and declare and don't give up. Because the power of the Lord was present to heal, and they came all that way, and Jesus just loves that. And so I believe she is being healed, and I'm looking forward to hearing from her again. Aren't these just great testimonies of the goodness of God and the healing power of Jesus Christ? If you are interested in having me come and speak at a motivational event, your church, or a conference of some sort, I am more than happy to consider that invitation. Please contact my church's office, Rivergate Church Tulsa, 918 492 5511, and we'll see if we can set something up. God bless you.
