Minute to Heal It Podcast
Eleven Surgeries, One Prayer, And A Whole Lot Of Hope
What if healing begins the moment hope returns to your face? Pastor Linda Budd, from Rivergate Church in Tulsa, opens up about a lifetime of praying for the sick and the many quiet breakthroughs she’s witnessed—some immediate, others unfolding step by step. We walk through a raw, honest testimony of a woman worn down by eleven surgeries and a crumbling marriage, and the moment a simple, specific prayer sparked a visible lift in her spirit. It’s not a sales pitch for quick fixes. It’s a grounded look at how faith and persistence can move both the heart and the body toward recovery.
We explore how practical, scripture-centered habits—reading, applying, and declaring promises from Isaiah 53:5 and 1 Peter 2:24—help listeners reframe identity from being defined by pain to living as people in recovery. Linda shares why she asks boldly for “new knees” or “a new hip,” and how naming the need focuses hope and invites measurable progress. You’ll hear why “grab a hold” is more than a catchphrase; it’s an active way to show up for prayer, stay connected to community, and take steps that align with what you believe about healing. The tone is candid and compassionate, balancing faith-filled expectation with respect for the process and the person.
If you’ve ever wondered whether persistent prayer matters, or how to engage scripture when your body hurts and your heart is tired, this conversation offers both courage and clarity. We aim to help you anchor your healing journey in simple, repeatable practices that build resilience over time. If the story resonates, share it with someone who needs hope today, and don’t forget to subscribe, leave a review, and tell us how you’re grabbing hold of healing this week.

Hi, I'm Linda Budd. I'm a pastor at Rivergate Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. And I take the scriptures literally that says that we are to lay hands on the sick and see them recover. And so for several years I've gone after a healing anointing. I've prayed for people dozens of times over the years, and I see so many get healed. I've seen all manner of sickness and disease healed. If you have any pain in your body, if you're infirmed, if you have any disease, if you have any sickness at all, I just reach my hand up to heaven right now in the name of Jesus and I call forth the new body part that you need. Listen to this testimony. A lady came who said she was looking for the new church. And she'd been there before. And I knew that she was a sad lady. I knew that her she and her husband were getting a divorce. And I asked her what she needed to be healed up, and she needed new knees, and she needed a left hip healed and so forth. She said she'd been through 11 surgeries. She fell off a horse and got hurt really, really bad. And she just seemed like a very sad person. Well, we began to pray for her, and we began to see things change in her. And though I can't say she was totally healed, God began to move upon her, and it looked like some hope came back on her. And I hope that she began to get new knees and a new hip and all these things, but I don't know for sure. But I hope that she'll keep pressing in. I hope she'll keep reading the scriptures and applying them. And I hope she'll keep declaring I am healed by the blood of the Lord. And uh Isaiah 53, 5 says you're already healed. And 1 Peter 2 24, we are healed already. And so grab a hold. Grab a hold if that's you. You've got to grab a hold. And so I want to encourage you with that now in Jesus' name. Aren't these just great testimonies of the goodness of God and the healing power of Jesus Christ? If you are interested in having me come and speak at a motivational event, your church, or a conference of some sort, I am more than happy to consider that invitation. Please contact my church's office, Rivergate Church Tulsa, 918 492 5511, and we'll see if we can set something up. God bless you.
