What if your sleepless nights are trying to tell you something true about your past. We share a candid pastoral moment with a man who came forward for prayer, hoping for instant relief from chronic insomnia. The first prayer was simple and sincere—declaring peace over his nights, asking for deep rest—yet by the next service, nothing had changed. That pause became a turning point as we asked a different question: what memory still teaches the body to stay on guard.

From there, the conversation gets honest about roots and fruit. We talk through deliverance as more than a quick fix—naming and breaking the lingering impact of trauma, releasing fear’s grip, and inviting God’s presence to settle the nervous system. The man immediately recognized a past event that shaped his nights, and that clarity opened a pathway to healing the heart and renewing the mind. Rather than treating sleep as a mechanical switch, we honor the whole person: memory, belief, body, and spirit working together to relearn safety after seasons of pain.

You’ll hear why some healings aren’t instant, how precise prayer focuses faith, and what practical steps help retrain the body to rest—gentle bedtime rituals, forgiveness work, and speaking peace over anxious thoughts. If you’ve ever felt discouraged when change didn’t arrive on your timeline, this story offers a way forward: a kind, thorough approach that meets the real cause, not just the loudest symptom. Listen, reflect, and consider what your own body might be remembering. If this conversation helps you or someone you love reclaim rest, share it with a friend, subscribe for more faith-and-health insights, and leave a review to tell us what resonated most.

Linda Budd:

And attended one of our services, and when I asked him what he needed to be healed of, he said that he doesn't sleep at night. And so I declared over him that the right to slide down and sleep in peace and prayed that he would indeed begin to sleep. When I saw him again at the next service, he said that he still was not able to sleep. And so I told him that this is something that we are going to have to work at, that there's a need for deliverance, that there is probably something in his past that affected his sleep. Well, he knew immediately what that was, and he told me. And so I uh said, Well, we're gonna work at this, we're gonna get deliverance from the trauma from the past and break that off. We're going to get healing in your heart from these issues and in your mind. And I just want to tell you that sometimes when you ask for a healing, it's not gonna happen just immediately. Sometimes you do need to find out what happened in the past to trigger the problem that you are now experiencing in your physical body. And so in Jesus' name, I pray that the Lord would show all of us what it is from our past that is causing this sickness to be able to take hold in Jesus' name.
