Pain can train you to expect the worst, especially when you have to go back for the same medical treatment again and again. Linda Budd shares a moment where she walks in expecting what she calls “unbelievably painful” treatment and then experiences something completely different: no pain at all. Not reduced pain. Not manageable pain. Zero pain where terrible pain should have been.
We unpack the turning point that changes her expectation. She says Jesus told her on Friday that he had taken the pain, and that promise becomes the lens she uses when she returns on Monday. What follows is a clear, personal Christian testimony of healing that sits right at the intersection of faith and the real world of clinics, procedures, and bodily limits. If you’ve ever wrestled with medical anxiety, chronic pain, or the exhausting cycle of bracing for the next hard appointment, this story speaks directly to that tension.
There’s also a powerful witness moment: her husband watches the treatment and is left speechless, marvelling at what he sees. And the result isn’t only about what happens during the procedure. Linda describes having energy afterward, not being wiped out, and going back to work, which adds a practical, everyday dimension to the claim of healing.

This is part two to Jesus Took the Pain. I had to go back again on Monday for the very same treatment. And again, it should have been unbelievably painful to the point where I can hardly handle it. But because Jesus told me on Friday that he had taken the pain, and when I went in, there was no pain when they gave the treatment. Now when I went back, I knew there'd be no pain, even though there should be terrible pain. Guess what? There was absolutely no pain. My husband stood there and was absolutely speechless and marveled of the Lord, as was I.
