A couple drives an hour across the state because they’ve heard something is happening at Rivergate Church: people are encountering Jesus’ healing presence. They walk into a Tuesday night service carrying a heavy, very real need. She’s battling colitis with relentless daily bleeding, and her husband looks like someone who has been holding his breath for far too long. We pray boldly, asking for a new colon in the name of Jesus, and we sit with what it means to bring desperate hope into a room filled with faith.

Then the story takes an unexpected turn. When we offer to pray for the husband, he insists he doesn’t need anything he only wants his wife healed. But gentle questions uncover the truth: he’s a veteran, and his body is paying the price. Elbows, shoulders, hips, knees he needs help too. The moment becomes a reminder that love doesn’t require self-erasure, and that prayer isn’t just for the person who seems “most” sick. God can meet a family on multiple fronts at once.

The most honest part comes after the service, when we follow up and hear the words nobody wants to say: nothing has changed yet. We talk about what to do when healing feels delayed, why we go back to the Word of God, and how declaring healing scriptures can keep faith alive between prayer and breakthrough. If you’re searching for Christian encouragement, faith healing stories, prayer for chronic illness, or simply a reason to keep going, this conversation will meet you right where you are.

News about Jesus' healing presence at Rivergate Church is beginning to spread out farther. A couple drove an hour away from inside our state in another part of the state to come to the Tuesday to the Sunday night service. And uh she just had so much wrong with her. Her body had colitis, and she was having 30 episodes of bleeding every day. Her husband looked like he just was so worried and like he just was so defeated and that he was so concerned and he was just praying and pressing into God for her. And so we began to get her a new colon in the name of Jesus. And

then we got him up and started praying for him, wanted to pray for him, and he said, No, I don't need anything. Well, he was a veteran, and

and hips and knees from being in the war. This was a young couple, and uh so I I we really prayed for him, and it looked like God really touched them both. Well, then I got a hold of him during the week, and she said that nothing had happened for her, and she was still having all the same issues. You know, when that happens, all I

can say is go back to the word of God, speak it over yourself, declare it over yourself, find healing scriptures and just declare and declare and declare and don't give up because the power of the Lord was present to heal, and they came all that way, and Jesus just loves that. And so I believe she is being healed, and I'm looking forward to hearing from her again.
